Looking for underwear without the chemical nasties found in non-organic clothing? Prefer clothing companies whose operations don’t adversely impact the environment? Here are some of our recommendations that won’t break the bank, are kind to your skin and our planet.

Organic Basics

This Scandanavia company produces high quality organic cotton underwear and basics at affordable prices. Stylish yet minimal, sure to check out their wide range of basics including tees, bras and bralettes, socks and briefs – plenty to choose from for women and men alike. They also stock activewear, swimwear and multipack options. The company has recently introduced a range of jeans, ‘circular denim’, made without the use of synthetic fibres so it can be recycled at the end of its wearable lifespan.

Organic Basics are committed to sustainable clothing practices and are transparent in their operations, producing annual impact reports, accessible factory information and a materials index. In partnership with the World Wildlife Fund, the company is also aiming to transition to fully regenerative organic cotton farms – a portion of sales (and direct donations) will contribute to funding this project.

  • Women’s Hipster 2-pack from $50 USD (currently $38)
  • Men’s Boxer Brief 2-pack from $55 USD (currently $41)
